Danny over a long show career won 6 CCs, 1 Res CC, 3 BIS and 1 Res BIS at Breed Club Championship Shows and a BOB and Group 2 at All Breed Ch.Sh. under UK Kennel Club rules.
Under Irish Kennel Club  rules  he won 50 Green Stars (370 points). He is the breed record holder in Ireland. He was IKC Annual Champion in the breed in 1983/84/85/88and 89 and top winning Golden in 1982/83/84/85/87/88 and 89. Danny was BIS at an All-breed Championship Show in Ireland at two and a half years old, and also during his career won 2 Res BIS at All-breed Championship Shows plus 9 Groups and 15 Group placings at the same level. He won Green Stars at IKC Championship Show (St Patrick's Day Show) 5 times and is the only Golden to take all four Green Stars on the Irish Circuit (Clonmel, Killarney, Limerick and Tralee Ch Shows) three times. Twice with 3 BOB's and once with all 4 BOB's.
He is,we believe, the oldest Golden ever to win a CC in UK. He won a CC at eleven and a half, with Res BIS and  a CC with BIS at twelve and a half.
In the year between his 11 and 12 years he won BIS and Res BIS at two Gundog Open Shows.
Danny sired his last litter at 12 and a half years old.
He was the Top Stud Dog in Ireland for many years. Danny was also a producer and sired 11 Champions all told in the UK, Ireland and abroad along with many other Green star and CC winners. He also sired 6 Junior Warrant winners in the UK.
Danny was the first Golden in Northern Ireland to win a Junior Warrant, which he did at twelve months of age. His first Green Star (with BOB) at IKC Championship Shows was won at 8 months. By the time he was 22 months he had not only won all the Green star points needed for his Irish title but had also his working qualification in both Ireland and the UK at field trials to give him his full Ch Title. He was also Group 2 at Belfast Ch Sh.when he won his 4th CC and BOB.
Danny was a natural worker and I trained him myself in just 4 weeks.
He also won an award at an Obedience Show, without ever having been to an obedience training class!
A  real  dual purpose dog. My lovely boy slept at my bedside for fourteen and a half years - my constant companion. He had so much to give and I loved him dearly.   He will always have a big place in my heart - not  for his wins - but for being the wonderful "person" he was.

They broke the mould when they made you,Danny.
You were the lynchpin of our breeding.
You were my soul mate for 14 and a half years.
Forever in my heart.
Photo taken when he was 14 and a half years old.
( He still has a level topline, reachy neck, and he is well angulated fore and aft. Short coupled and correct tail set.)
A really balanced boy.
